This project entails selective demolition within the Lenox Hill Hospital space, as well as the coordination of several mechanical trades, including electrical contractors, plumbing contractors, and numerous installation crews. In addition, our scope includes saw-cutting several shear wall penetrations through 12" of reinforced concrete, as well as, the saw-cutting of a radius concrete knee wall to allow for the installation of new block walls at this location. NYC School Construction Authority
This project consists of interior demolition, as well as structural concrete slab removals. Stair cases, mechanical chases, and all interior non-bearing partition walls have also been removed during our demolition. In addition, we have performed the demolition of the shear walls of this 6-story structure, as well as all storage tank removals. All work has progressed timely and without incident. [ read more ]
Governor's Island
This project entailed the total demolition of 12 structures located on Governor's Island. This site also included the coordination of all Asbestos Abatement required prior to our demolition activities. [ read more ]
This project included the total demolition of 5 high rise buildings within Midtown Manhattan. Our work included the installation of tie back and bracing details, as well as, the shoring of the foundation of the adjacent properties to alleviate any concern related to undermining of their integrity. Demolition at this project was heavily phased due to our site's proximity to a major excavation site. All work at this project was performed without incident. [ read more ]
Jet Blue Terminal 6
This project consisted of the total demolition of Terminal 6 at JFK Airport, as well as, the coordination of all required Asbestos Abatement. In addition, our work on this project included the management of several mechanical trades, along with active communication with the Port Authority and Airport Security. Our means and methods at this site included the use of a 600 Ton Crane for the surgical removal of several pieces of steel adjacent to an active elevator shaft, plus the installation of bracing and shoring at several areas. All work was conducted without incident or interruption to the airport and in strict compliance to all Port Authority guidelines. [ read more ]
This phased project lasted over five years. LJC performed the total demolition of the existing hospital structure, as well as, extensive mechanical demolition at this site. In addition, this project included the coordination of all Asbestos Abatement activities on site. Our demolition work included structural foundation removals, extensive saw-cutting operations, plus bracing, shoring, and interior removals adjacent to the new active hospital areas. This work was performed in multiple phases, with a number of design changes throughout. This project consisted of the interior demolition of over 700,000 square feet of non- bearing partitions, mechanicals, chases, and all affiliated piping. In addition, LJC performed structural concrete slab removals in excess of 200,000 square feet. This work was performed along-side multiple trades involved in the new construction phase of the project, and was accomplished through close coordination with their manpower. Several stair cases, elevators, and mechanical shafts were demolished simultaneously to this new construction phase. Furthermore, LJC managed all of the Asbestos and Hazardous Materials Abatement at this site, overseeing all aspects of our subcontractors' work. At this site, LJC Dismantling performed interior demolition, as well as, structural removal of exterior concrete walls to allow for the installation of a new glass curtain wall. This work was accomplished for the construction of the Museum of Arts & Design at this location.
